Davis & Kwong LLP is a boutique immigration firm dedicated to guiding individuals and families through one of life's most consequential journeys — with experience, compassion, and care.
Davis & Kwong LLP was founded by two immigration attorneys who met while representing clients at the New York Legal Assistance Group — one of the nation's largest legal services providers. United by a shared belief that immigration law should be a force for equity, Brendan and Julia launched the firm to bring the same depth of public-interest experience to a wider community of clients.
The firm's practice spans the full breadth of US immigration law, with particular expertise in humanitarian cases, asylum proceedings, and removal defense. Every client is treated as a whole person, not a case number.
"We started this firm because we believe immigration law has the power to reunite families, protect the vulnerable, and build communities. That belief drives everything we do."
Our practice spans the full spectrum of US immigration law, with deep expertise in humanitarian protection and the cases that turn on getting the details right.
Representing individuals who have fled persecution based on race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group. We handle affirmative and defensive asylum cases with sensitivity and rigor.
Guiding lawful permanent residents through naturalization — eligibility review, the N-400 application, the civics and English examinations, and the oath ceremony. We also handle derivative citizenship claims.
Petitions to reunite immediate relatives and qualifying family members with their US citizen or lawful permanent resident sponsors. We guide you through every step of the petition and adjustment process.
Representation before immigration courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals. We fight to protect our clients from deportation and exhaust every available legal avenue for relief.
Guiding clients through employment-based, family-based, and diversity-based pathways to lawful permanent residence — including adjustment of status and consular processing.
Renewals and applications for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, Temporary Protected Status, special immigrant juvenile status, U visas for crime victims, and T visas for trafficking survivors.
Brendan has spent his career building immigration legal services where they were most needed. He previously served as a Supervising Attorney at the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and as Legal Services Coordinator at South Bronx United, where he built an immigration legal services program from the ground up.
His practice centers on humanitarian immigration, removal defense, and work authorization. Brendan is known for taking on the cases other firms consider too complicated, and for explaining the process in terms clients actually understand.
